Boat owners without sufficient proof of ownerships are required to post a Texas boat title bond with the State of Texas in order to receive a new title. This enables the owner to register their watercraft properly. Texas boat title bonds serve to protect any other interested party against any expense, loss or damage. These bonds are typically issued at a rate of 1.5 times the value of the watercraft. They are required for delinquent payers in order to maintain proper credentials with the state. Additional stipulations apply for military personnel.
