The State of Texas requires any agency, individual, or institution operating polygraph testing to post a Polygraph Examiner bond. These bonds are typically inexpensive and easy to acquire. A typical premium is $100 annually. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires polygraph examiners to post $5,000 surety bonds. By posting a Texas polygraph examiner surety bond, the principal (polygraph examiner) agrees to abide by all provisions of the Polygraph Examiners Occupations Code, which can be found in Title 10 of the Texas Occupations Code.
